"Love Bites"
Anyone else watching the new show Love Bites on NBC? It's on Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT. As it says on the official site:
As a romance writer, I love that each vignette ends on a happy ending. Also love the total geek acceptance, and me and Tech Guy have been laughing our asses off with the first two eps. Maseratis and banana bread have all-new meanings. If you haven't watched it--totally worth catching up. Great summer TV.
"Love Bites" is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each of the multiple vignettes will involve an array of talented guest stars every week, and will illuminate the theme of love with a fresh, irreverent spin.
Anchoring the series and appearing in each episode are stars Becki Newton ("Ugly Betty") as Annie Matopoulos, a single New York City girl looking for "Mr. Right Now"; and Constance Zimmer ("Entourage") and Greg Grunberg ("Heroes") as Colleen and Judd Rouscher, a happily married Venice Beach couple.
Guest cast for the pilot episode includes Jennifer Love Hewitt ("Ghost Whisperer"), Craig Robinson (NBC's "The Office"), Kyle Howard ("My Boys"), Steve Howey ("Bride Wars"), Lindsay Price ("Eastwick"), Larry Wilmore ("The Daily Show"), Guillermo Diaz ("Mercy"), Krysten Ritter ("Breaking Bad"), David Giuntoli ("Privileged"), and Charlyne Yi ("Knocked Up").
Emmy Award-winning producer/director Marc Buckland ("My Name Is Earl") directed the pilot, and will serve as an executive producer. He's joined by executive producers Tracy Poust and Jon Kinnally ("Will & Grace," "Ugly Betty"), and Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, and Shelley McCrory of Working Title Television. Emmy Award-winning writer/producer Cindy Chupack ("Sex And The City") is the creator, and will be a consulting producer on the series.
"Love Bites" is from Universal Media Studios and Working Title Television, which is a new division of Working Title Films (the UK production company behind such box office hits as "Love Actually," "Bridget Jones's Diary," and "Four Weddings and a Funeral").

It's Tuesday and I feel fine.
Sorta. How was your Monday?
Pluses: I slept in, it was MUCH cooler than the weekend, and I watched new "Chuck" and "Gossip Girl".
Minuses: It was the one-year anniversary of my father's death, and I spent several hours on a project that wasn't panning out except in frustration.
In the greater scheme of the month, I'm very grateful for the fans that come to the Facebook page and leave me a note. They're virtual treats, cookies like chocolate chip, or Milanos. Mmmmm, Milanos.....

Recent Movies
We saw "No Strings Attached" and "Paul". Two thumbs up on both. Hilarious. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of our Tron Special Edition combo box on April 5th. :D

Wow, can't believe it's been this long since I posted.
Red was an awesome movie and Helen Mirren rocked.
Harry Potter 7.1 - beautifully filmed, and poor Dobby! We loved it.
The Vampire Diaries is having a great second season.
Supernatural. Having a lead with a missing soul is an interesting touch.
Smallville has been fabulous, except I miss Chloe.
Hellcats is fun, Chuck is fun, Castle is funny, Nikita is hot, Gossip Girl--drama!, and I'll miss Undercovers. It was cute. The most recent ep. of Parenthood was the best this season.
Looking forward to The Cape in January.
The Expendables! Great movie, even better Blu-Ray DVD.
Already have tickets to Tron: Legacy in IMAX 3D midnight showing!

Summer viewing
Last Comic Standing,
Losing it with Jillian,
America's Got Talent,
So You Think You Can Dance.
I'm also watching reruns of The Vampire Diaries while my honey plays WoW.
Only recent movie we saw was "Killers", which was pretty funny. Bonus for having Tom Selleck.

"It's Complicated" review
Really apt title! It's technically a rom-com, I guess, but since the characters are older, it's not the typical looking-for-happy-ever-after cliche. Meryl Streep looks great for her age, btw...even my boyfriend said so (I love that my 30-year-old guy can look at a much older woman and not just think eww, old). There are a lot of laughs, but it also sets you thinking about how people aren't necessarily done with other people just because the relationship ended, how you change or grow as you get older, and how it's okay to be single-and-together instead of coupled-but-still-messed-up.
The best part, to me, is that you don't know if Meryl Streep's character will end up with one of the two guys, or neither, until the very end....and even then, there's a little ambiguity. I loved that a rom-com script didn't have you knowing how it would end by the second act. Romance book writers often want to put a little more reality in a story, so it was really nice to see that here, that life wasn't going to be wrapped in a pretty little bow for her.
On an aesthetic note, the food in the movie always sounds/looks amazing (MS's character has a bakery/cafe), and the house is gorgeous. I'm pretty sure it's set in the Santa Barbara area from the overhead shot of the town, and the MC has this huge property with a great open house and a garden and a view of the ocean. It's ideal California living, and I WANT.
Oh, and I'd never seen a movie with Meryl Streep where her character laughs so much. It was delightful, she lit up.
