If you read on a Kindle, it uses a Mobi file.
You can see an example of Amazon's new policy here.
They've done it to one of my romance box sets. I don't have a single thing about that set that makes it Erotica. It's Contemporary Romance.

The individual stories are (so far) still in Romance and have their ranks. Erotica books can no longer get an overall Amazon rank, the rank for all the book store. Erotica books are also "hidden" - they won't come up in a search. A reader would only find it through direct link.

#numbers in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Erotica > Humorous
#numbers in Books > Literature & Fiction > Erotica > Humorous
#numbers in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Erotica > Romantic Erotica

So, I've unpublished West Coast Soulmates Vol. 1 from Amazon.
And as long as they continue this policy, no NEW books will be sold on Amazon by me. They're applying this ban completely at RANDOM, so no author can be sure they'll end up in the right category when they publish.
