Tuesday Teaser - How Bob and Celeste met
Celeste might’ve gone to the concert to see Jake Lindsey sing, but it was the lead guitarist Bob Thompson she couldn’t take her eyes off of. Now with a chance to meet him, she introduced herself.
“I think we should get to know each other.”
He took her offered hand, but didn’t shake it, holding it in his large grasp instead. “Oh? Why’s that?” he asked, smiling.
“Our best friends are gonna do the dating thing and there’ll be a lot of drama. If they’re going to drive us nuts, the least we can do is commiserate.”
He laughed, deep and throaty, and still hadn’t let go of her hand. “They do like to complicate life, don’t they? Tell you what, gorgeous…” He took a pen out of his pocket and started writing on her palm.
“What’s at that address?”
Bob finally released her hand. His eyes flicked down, then up, taking in her curvaceous form. “A good time. What else is there?”
It was her turn to laugh. “Not a damn thing.”

Saturday Snippet - Jacob and Beth
His scent floated up from the pillow, a mix of shampoo, cologne, and essential Jacob, the recipe not changing much since he was sixteen. Feeling needier than I wanted to be, I got up and tapped on the bathroom door with one finger, twice. He opened it and I wrapped my arms around him, burying my face in his neck.
“Just one more week,” he whispered in my ear. I nodded, rubbing the sides of our faces together, lifted my head, and our lips met.
We never did chaste kisses and this was no exception, my butt soon set on the counter and my legs wrapped around his hips. He hadn’t put on a shirt, yet, so my hands were exploring all that yummy skin while it was in reach.
A baby cried. I froze, then Jacob. My niece Sarah.
We heard doors open and close, then Darcy’s voice through the wall, soothing her daughter. I slid off the counter and reached for the door. After peeking into the hallway, I escaped to the kitchen.
Babies…it’s like they know.
Still, I’d thank her later. I didn’t want our first time together again to happen in my brother’s guest bathroom before my boyfriend flew away for a week.
Comments welcome.

Thursday Thirteen
13 sentences from Book 3:
New Year's EveTokyo, Japan
The concert had been timed for the latest song to end a minute before midnight. The big screen behind Jake and the band showed the crowd as the camera panned over the audience. They screamed.
“Grab someone you love, and if you came alone, make a friend,” he said into the mike.
A timer popped up on the screen counting down the seconds.
Jacob dialed a number on his cell phone, then held it up to the shouting crowd.
“TEN…NINE…EIGHT…SEVEN…”
Her voice mail would pick up at this hour, but it didn’t matter.
“FIVE…FOUR…THREE…TWO…ONE!!!”
He held the phone’s microphone close to his lips to be heard over the celebrating crowd. “Happy New Year, baby. I’m comin’ home.”

Tuesday Teaser
Bob walked out of LAX to one of the waiting Town Cars, pulling his phone out of his pocket before he sat down inside.
“Home, sir?”
“Yeah, man.”
The driver put up the privacy screen and pulled out into traffic. Bob dialed a familiar number.
“Hello?”
“I’m leaving the airport. Be at my door,” he said, and hung up.
When he reached the floor of his apartment, she was there, wearing a trench coat and over-the-knee boots.
“Who do you think you are, hanging up on me?”
“You still came.” He switched his bag to his left hand and unlocked the door.
“Not yet.”
A little more from Book 3. Comments welcome.
