New Year, New Writing

Hello! Tech Guy and I took a 3-day road trip (our first together) over the weekend and I've been recuperating. You know those vacations you need a vacation to rest for after? One of those. But, there are aspects I can use for story research. ;)  Saw a kick-ass concert Saturday night, and a lot of scenery.

So....

I have plans for 2013. Of course, we all know what they say about best-laid plans...

There are only 10 months that count to the year, so all books have to be out by October. I have 5 unique titles for sale right now. There are 5 WIPs that are complete or mostly-complete first drafts.

One is Jacob/Beth book 3. I've said it'll come out in 2013 and I mean that.

Three others are Della's series (Becoming Seven).

The fifth features Della, but she's not the star.

Everything else needs a lot more work finishing first drafts, so I absolutely couldn't guarantee more. 5 stories is a stretch, but I think I can get 4, since it'll be a mix of novels and novellas. Provided my shoulder problem doesn't flare up again. Provided the annoying roommate doesn't get a change in shift hours again, since working around someone who works graveyard and doesn't leave the house otherwise is already a challenge. I've lived vampire hours for a lonnnnng time.

Looking forward to a new year with a clean slate. Once the Christmas tree is gone, I can get my bookcase from Ikea for my office corner, get my books out of boxes, and do more organizing - and hopefully gain a touch more privacy due to its height. I'd like to get one of the books out by the end of 1st quarter, but never know how rewrites will go. I need to get back to the chiropractor for my shoulder.

Personal Goals: Losing flab, and getting out more to cultural stuff like museums and concerts etc. Already planning to visit the Indiana Jones exhibit at the Discovery Science Center soon, since we live really close. I want a healthier year, so the least I'm stuck in the house, the better. My wish: to not be in this house next Christmas. I say it every year and haven't gotten close, but on the other hand I'm closer than I was 2 years ago.

Many of us make New Year's resolutions and mine for writing is to have the first four mentioned above released by the end of October 2013. Wish me luck!
